Nielsen areas

The Nielsen areas correspond to the division of Germany into seven regions established by the market research company Nielsen:

  • Nielsen I: Bremen, Hamburg, Lower Saxony, Schleswig-Holstein
  • Nielsen II: North Rhine-Westphalia
  • Nielsen IIIa: Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saarland
  • Nielsen IIIb: Baden-Württemberg
  • Nielsen IV: Bavaria
  • Nielsen V + VI: Berlin, Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Saxony-Anhalt
  • Nielsen VII: Saxony, Thuringia
